Supporting Our Guardsman Through Higher Education
Mission

Our Mission
The Pennsylvania National Guard Scholarship Fund (PNGSF) is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for National Guard members and their families. Our mission is to support higher education by awarding scholarships to eligible individuals, helping them achieve their academic and career goals.

History
Seeing an opportunity to assist its members, leaders
of the Pennsylvania National Guard organized the
Scholarship Fund in 1976. The original funds were
raised through special volunteer projects. In addition,
the Officers and Warrant Officers of the PA Army and
Air Guard contributed $20,000 placing the Fund on a
sound financial basis. The first scholarship award was
given in 1977 (12 scholarships at $250 each). To date
the fund has distributed in excess of $434,500 in
grants.
Nondiscrimination: The Fund does not and will not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion
(creed), gender (sex), sexual orientation, gender
expression or identity, age, national origin (ancestry),
disability or marital status or any of its activities or

limited to, appointment of executive director, board
members, selection of scholarship recipients and
provision of services.

Supporting Our Service Members

Scholarships
Our scholarship programs aim to alleviate the financial burden of education for National Guard members and their dependents. By awarding scholarships, we enable individuals to pursue their academic aspirations and secure a brighter future.

Educational Support
We provide educational support initiatives to enhance learning opportunities for National Guard families. These programs focus on promoting academic success, skill development, and career advancement for individuals seeking to further their education.

Community Outreach
PNGSF Strives to involve the community in helping our soldiers and airmen pursue their education goals . We are blessed to have contributors who believe in improving the lives of our soldiers and airmen of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Benefactors include Local VFW Lodges, the 28th Division Association and various endowments from both recipients and those who believe strongly in our mission. We invite you to join our cause. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax deductibles.
