History

Seeing an opportunity to assist its members, leaders
of the Pennsylvania National Guard organized the
Scholarship Fund in 1976. The original funds were
raised through special volunteer projects. In addition,
the Officers and Warrant Officers of the PA Army and
Air Guard contributed $20,000 placing the Fund on a
sound financial basis. The first scholarship award was
given in 1977 (12 scholarships at $250 each). To date
the fund has distributed in excess of $434,500 in
grants.

Nondiscrimination: The Fund does not and will not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion
(creed), gender (sex), sexual orientation, gender
expression or identity, age, national origin (ancestry),
disability or marital status or any of its activities or
operations. These activities include, but are not
limited to, appointment of executive director, board
members, selection of scholarship recipients and
provision of services.
